The benefits of biking for your own health and well-being are clear. All types of regular exercises given weekly are good for the long-term health of the individual. I know that the 10th gear of modern bicycles is considered obsolete. But keep in mind that this was back in the summer of 1973. I ran a track in high school and did my best in sprinting by the time I graduated, but I was crazy about biking. A few years later, while in college, I had about five weeks off between the end of the semester finals and graduation from school until I got a job as a summer camp counselor. During those five weeks, instead of sitting on the couch every day and watching TV for hours at a time, I got off my bike and ran around the suburbs of the town I lived in at the time. My usual route was about 25-30 miles. I had to climb some hills, but after each training session I was fine.

 

As I said, I ran in high school and college. After graduating, I continued my running regimen. However, I became a long-distance runner and often hit the road for 3-4 miles of training. I lived in New England until my thirties, and I was still biking in the summer, but I couldn’t because it was snowing a few inches on the street. So I ran a lot too.

 

In the end, all the long-distance running I’ve done for about 15 years has caught up with me. My lower body was relentlessly throbbing on the sidewalks of those streets, causing my legs to hurt and my knees to hurt. I also had pain in the Achilles tendon of my right foot. I knew I had to give up running for fear that my Achilles tendon would break as a result of years of stress.

 

But I never gave up on my bike. In fact, I increased the number of trainings on my bicycle to maintain my physical strength. It is one of the benefits of biking for good health and wellness. On a bicycle, the stress on the lower joints is not the same as on a running person. My legs, knees, especially the Achilles tendon, aren’t as stressed as when I was running four times a week. I am 52 years old now. And I take out my bicycle and ride it several times a week. The only stress I experience is climbing the hills that are part of my training route. And when the exercise therapy is completed, you will be fine.

Take it out and take it to a reputable bicycle repair shop for servicing work to ensure proper operation. Above all, you need a bicycle that you can ride safely. If you don’t have a bike; you can invest in one, whether it’s a street / road or off-road mountain bike. You don’t have to invest thousands of dollars in your bike. 

 

3). Before you start riding, buy a good bicycle helmet first. This is mandatory. Personally, I know I don’t even think about riding a bike without a helmet on my head. A good bicycle helmet costs about $ 50 to $ 75. Many great helmets come with foam fit pad inserts that can be adjusted to fit your head size. I never want anyone to have problems with their bikes regarding their safety. However, in the event of an unfortunate incident, injuring a leg, arm, or shoulder is less of a problem than if something happened to a person’s head. Please protect your head. If an adult has a child to ride a bicycle with, a young child will also be required to wear a helmet.
